82-84 T/A Fenders
OK, so I've searched the board about this question, but I just want to get some verification before I go out and spend some money on this...
I'm in the process of "restoring" my 84 Convertible, and I need to find the 82-84 Fenders...
In the posts I read from the past, it stated that the fenders AND the holes for the air extractors are the same for all the years, and what differs is the size of the extractor and the mount points for the GFX...
So my question is: Can i buy the newer fenders (They are SO much easier to find...Finding parts for a car that most people call "KITT" is really hard!) and put the older style Extractors into them?
Also I'm assuming I'll need to drill new mount points for the GFX (That's assuming I can locate a set of the Aero GFX...). Will I need to fill the old mount points, or will they be hidden by the GFX once they are mounted?
Thanks a bunch guys!
Miah

Glad I could help!
I didn't realize your car was a non-V-8!
I had never seen one converted before! You'll have to email me some pics!
Glad to see you still have it! Not much fun during winter, is it?
I have a second gen ragtop, a converted Trans Am, 1979. The tranny went out, and now that I have the money for it (gotta love selling on ebay), I won't fix it during the winter! Too cold out here!
Later,
George

Yup...It's definitely a factory V6...I wish it was the V8...
I'll find some pictures for ya and send 'em your way...The car is kind of in pieces right now, but I'm sure I've got some pictures of it from before.
Luckily I have a winter car, a Pontiac 6000, so I don't drive the convertible in the snow...Just goes straight into storage.
I bet that 79' is fun! Is that a National Coach conversion?

Yep!
A really fun car, with the top down!
And, unlike yours, a four seater! So, more girls fit!
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
A transplanted 3:08 rear, 403 Olds powered, with true dual exhaust! Too bad it's a pegleg! One big smokey burnout!
A non-WS6 car, but I put in a WS6 steering box, front and rear WS6 swaybars, and the WS6 gold snowflakes!
I hope to one day have a convertible GTA, '89! If not, a '91-'92 Convertible Trans Am or Firebird!
Good luck on getting yours together soon! These cars are a blast to drive!
