Rare "1LE" high performance package, 5.7 liter TPI V8 engine 245 horsepower Z-28 package, performance axle ratio, radio and speaker delete, 1 of 478 built, available to a few selected dealers, not offered to the public, offered with original books, build sheet, window sitcker. This very rare Highway Patrol edition has only "78" original miles.

Soon to be on the auction block.. wonder what she'll fetch?

Apart from the low mileage, sounds like a run-of-the-mill B4C.

It is a run of the mill B4C but the low miles is what makes it so rare. Most B4C's went into service, so by the time we get our hands on them they've been through some crazy stuff. I hate red but I would love to get my hands on that car. 78 miles. Geesh!!

I hate it, not the car, the fact that collectors are ruining the hobby for everyone who just wants to own a cool car.

I hope it brings no more then its origional sticker price.

You have to have some sympathy for the owner. He could have had his money invested in the stock market for the past 15 years and more than doubled his value. He did not even get to enjoy driving the car.

I don't get what you're saying at all. Someone holding onto a highly optioned car and letting it sit in a garage somewhere somehow ruined your chances of owning a cool car? So did my swapping drivetrains ruin a collector's dream too? There's room for modifying/driving the **** out of cars and keeping them like new. They only made hundreds of thousands of thirdgens. And while I chose to buy a beaten one and make it how I want it to be, I can also appreciate seeing an older car that's been kept just the way it was on the showroom floor.

Wow that thing is beautiful. It still has the protective plastic on the seats.

Were the 1LE's always had without foglights? I also noticed the lack of door trim as well.

Yeah the B4C's are kind of odd to see, looks like a base model RS. But its pretty much a 1LE w/ Z28 parts in RS trim. Although I do have to admit its funny when someone thinks its a base model RS and they have an easy kill, the look on their faces when you pull away in your stock RS hahaha.

You think? Is that what you did? I know alot of people that lost big $$ in the stock market. I lost so much, I refuse to reinvest any of it. Real Estate is where my $$ will go. The car is nice, but unfortunately, it's probably going to need work because it's sat so long.

Not everybody buys cars with the hopes of them going up in value. The owner might have purchased it years ago, stored it away because he knew that someday he would have something that almost nobody has. It wasn't the value of the car, it was the rarity. It's also possible that the person passed away and now the car is being sold because a family member doesn't hold the same passion for the car. This sounds like deja vu to me....

The previous owner of my car special ordered it with every option and stored it for the future. They wanted to have a show car with low miles when the car would be 20-30 years old. Unfortunately, the owner passed away and the teenage son sold the car to me because he needed the money. It happens more than you'd like to think.

Wait, how is that a B4C? I always thought that B4Cs where always a RS, and that isn't a RS. It seems to be a 1LE with a 305 and AT, which why would anyone do that? I also always thought that a B4C had A/C because of the time the cops spent in the car. Just doesn't make any sense to me.

I agree I thought B4C's were RS's. This one looks like your run of the mill 1LE made for SCCA showroom racing series.

Nice car though.

Car: '91 Z28 & '90 RS Vert & '89 RS
Engine: 5.7L & none & 2.8L (soon to be LSX)
Transmission: yes
Axle/Gears: One's with teeeeefs
So No One Read what that said and THEN looked at the pics.......

This car is just a 1LE car. No where did it say it was a B4C. It is a Z28 1LE that someone "labeled" as a "police edition", probably because of the options on it, or because they mixed up 1LE and B4C codes. Ignorance is bliss.

Look at the pics. The car has Z28 emblems on it AND the hi-rise rear wing AND hood blisters....NONE of which were offered on B4C cars. It's "just" a 1LE.... I'd still buy it...
