Re: 86 camaro help
Duplicolor vinyl plastic. Scratch the panels up with greeny pad, hot water and soap, grease and wax remover, prep spray, then hit it with paint worked great on mine

If your current interior plastics are badly scratched and dry-rotted than you've got nothing to loose by spraying them with vinyl/fabric dye. Go-ahead and give it a shot. Dying works best if your trying to stay with a "similar" color, and will only be as "successful" as possible with proper preparation.
If your current interior plastics are in good shape then don't ruin them by spraying them. Sell them to someone else that wants them. ANY $$ you get will help pay for the parts you want. ( the parts that will not get harmed the first time they get touched by something harder than a milk carton ! )
I use spray dye all the time; almost exclusively on fabric or rubber parts. Wanna' see what happens to spray dye on plastics, OK. Now: I know better,...... but in this case I need to get belts in the car. (There's no headliner so they can get replaced before the headliner gets installed. ) I used liquid dye to dye the belts first then I used spray dye over the belts and the plastic. The plastic housing got washed with water, then Super clean, then water, then a wet green scrubby, then dried, then sprayed. As I was carrying them to the car for installation the metal belt made contact with the plastic.
i want everything to look or be new
