Look at Comp cams XFI series cams, they're made for the LT1s and can get from mild to wild in that line.

I do not care what people say about the LT4 hot cam!!!! I am running 10s with one in a car that still has stock heads and inspection stickers on it. The trick is do your homework first and match every part from the front to the rear of the car.

That kit will get you every thing you will need. Some say the springs are junk because they are made to work with the LT4 valves witch are lighter valves.
Unless you go NSA rockers you should not have to use gideplates or harden pushrods. I would go with 1.6 rr on any cam.

A 48 mm will work and support upwards of 400hp. And the SFC never hurt if you have the cash get them.

Re: lt1 cam selection help please
Check out this link and the cam at the top http://www.elliottsportworks.com/lt1.html I run his LE2 cam with his ported heads and it does well.. he can provide cam only, all the parts you need, and some very good free advice..
For your power level a stock TB, stock injectors, and a mail order tune will work just fine.

Re: lt1 cam selection help please
just get the kit from summit mentioned above, if you don't choose Lloyd Elliot. it has springs and lifters already.
does anyone know if they are 1.5 or 1.6 RR's?

Re: lt1 cam selection help please
i only got about $2000 to play with and i have to get all the parts for a complete rebuild, drag radials and whatever else that i might need to support the cam upgrade + machine work + a tune, so i dont really wanna pay $600 for the lt4 hot cam kit cause i can buy just the cam for $210 and buy the NEEDED accessories seperatly for cheaper,so what is absolutely needed for the lt4 cam to work properly in my car?thanks, joe

Re: lt1 cam selection help please
The NEEDED accessories for the hot cam is CAM,SPRINGS you dont have to have the 1.6 rr but with the 1.5rr you will lose lift. If you do not mind used parts it can be done better and cheaper.

Re: lt1 cam selection help please
The stock injectors should work for your power level you can look here http://www.iroczone.com/calcs/injectorsize.htm and calculate it out.. it doesn't hurt to go bigger but you will be able to get away with 24lbers for a while but you will need a program and a higher duty cycle to provide the fuel.
You could always email any of the mail order programmers around and see what they recommend.
