Well to get my car started I went and cut my fuel rail line, flared it and went with efi hose with the barb fuel rail fittings for my lt1. I don't see me having any problems with it. Efi clamps work great but now that I sit back I see it as being too halfassed.


I recall seeing someones Lt1 swap that mentioned a kit that flares the stock hard line and connects it via braided to the lt1 fuel rail. Is this the Purechoice kit? I really need to find out before I just replace the lines and go with Z28ricers lines.

I purchased the 30" line and flared it with me stock hard line. Came with all the. Nessesary fittings just not the flaring kit.

stock hardlines on the thirdgen car have the metric fittings already on the lines. Just need metric to AN adapters that they sell. Then you can run braided line to the LT1 fuel rails. The purechoice kit I had included the snap-fit connectors for the LT1 rails. Didnt have to flare anything.

If your trimming the hardlines on the body back alittle ways near the firewall, then yes you need to flare that.

A day late and a dollar short..... I have the purechoice kit... I had to flare the body lines... and almost cut one too short because I messed the flare the first time.. be careful.. they work great and look SHarp!

They work and look great. But if your budgets alittle bigger than mine was then id suggest going AN braided from the tank back.You'll need 20' of line and the nessesary fittings. Pocket has a great right-up on routing your lines with the fittings. Its more expensive but only by like a hundred bucks. Either way works, just my .02

OK - Now I need lines and have ?? !

I called Pure Choice and could not complete the transaction because I needed to be sure that the lines are correct before spending $100. Please; Be sure you know the answer and do not guess !

My car is an 84. The stock carb fuel sytem was completely removed and the parts currecntly installed = an 85 TPI car. The rubber lines leading off the frame rail hard lines read 5/16" and 3/8". Both fuel line fittings require a 5/8" wrench. It will be awhile before my fuel rails are installed and I can take measurements; The LT1 is currently installed & waiting on parts !



When I spoke to Pure Choice I expected to order PN 6010, but he suggested PN 6005 and mentioned 30" lines. His thought was that my stock fuel lines were metric (14/16mm )

I have searched many threads for LT1 swaps and always see conversions in later cars using different factory Fuel lines. Obviously the later fuel lines are shorter and I THINK that these are the factory lines lines require 30" length hoses,....... This pic of my old 91 shows the "shorter" fuel lines I always see in other LT1 swaps.



Does anyone KNOW FOR SURE what size fittings are on the 85 "O-Ring" type fuel lines ?? ( top picture )

Does anyone KNOW FOR SURE how long the Purechoice lines should be for my current fuel lines ? ( top picture )

I think these are the fittings that I got for my swap. I can't find the receipt at the moment. I think it is buried in the somewhere in one of the LT1 swap stickies.

I was about to order but wanted to ask again......

Orr89RocZ; Can you remember / tell me how long the lines were when you purchased them ?? Are your lines similar to the "early" or "late" fuel lines ? Do you have pics of your set-up ??

A test fit using cable gave me 34" for the 16mm and 35" for the 14mm. This appears to place the braided lines just around the strut cover, between the hydraulic res and Master Cylinder, then over the brake booster and directly to the rails. If I go as long as 42&43" than the braided line would fit, but woould be much closer to the fender and seemingly less secure.

Regardless of the line length,....... I'm also unsure how much bend this line will have from the factory fuel line, after a adapter fitting is installed. (possible underhood clearance problem ?? )

cprmn14 Used 30 " lines; but his factory lines appear to have been cut short from the pics and description. I've got a 30" braided cable and it is too short - for sure.

When I spoke to Purechoice the part numbers =

5800 ( Quick Connect Fittings)
5860 & 5870 ( 14 & 15 MM fittings
3106 ( Braided Fuel line )

They could not recomend a length for the line. lengths available from 30-43".

Here's an pic showing where I ran the fuel lines on my ride:



I don't remember exactly what I bought at the time and I really don't want to try to find the documentation /receipts from that purchase. However; I just checked under the hood and tried to get the measured length of each line.....

The smaller line looks to be 36" (closest to the nose in front, closet to the firewall in back)
The larger line looks to be 34".

I used an extension cord then measured the cord with a tape measure, and it was pretty dark,... but I measured each fuel-line twice and believe the measurements to be accurate.

P.S. Sure wish my engine-cradle still looked like it did in that picture above from 2012 !!!! The last 7 years has beaten most of the finish off the cradle and it's starting to rust again. Kinda' sucks, but I'd NEVER trades those 7 years of 'hard miles' for a shiny/painted engine cradle ----------> Not in a million years !
