hey everybody, idk if that 417 fbody forum still exsists but i cant find it. Anyway when I was on there I kinda thought it was a flop, mostly because i could never get any notifications.. and nobody ever got together. well im really wanting to start a 417 FBody or just thirdgen club or organization where we can maybe start getting together and showing off the greatest cars ever built. I think itd be easier to do just general fbody but if anybodys interested please hit me up and we can get this ball started

ps i like the names 417thirdgen and 417fbody if that doesn't exist anymore. if it does just somebody let me know

there is just not enough 3rd gen f-body cars in the 417 area to keep their own forum going. We use the 417racing.com web sight . 3rd gens just get no respect compared to the 4th and 5th gen cars.

Im on 417racing as well under 81_Bird. I like the open fbody idea dew to I traded my black 92 for a 81 Firebird t top. But I still have a green 92 hard top I want rid of.

But im down for a group or even just meeting a few of you.

Ill check out the 417racing site... never have because I assumed it would be full of rice and mustangs... and I dislike both lol. I think the open fbody idea is the best choice tho, but I judt don't know where to start right now lol.

But 92 how much are you asking for on that green car and is it a manual? I know a guy in buffalo who's looking for one

Its an auto hard top... needs trans put in.. asking $1500 with my ion wheels. He brings wheel $1000. May take a little less cue I just bought a starter and a used trans for it.

I'll PM you my number. THIS IS HOW the car sits right now.
THIS IS A PROJECT CAR.. needs LOTS of little things..
Trans needs installed (have a good used one)
Fan needs fixed (works but needs bolted back on on the lower side
Headlights need installed, the bumper cover needs installed (plan on doing this saterday)
Needs a radiator
Needs a blower motor, the one i have works, but is WAY weak
Needs the driver side door fixed with a little welding and sanding (rust you'll see in photo)
Interior needs work
No radio
Shift linkage needs fixed
No Dome light, head liner, well a lot of the interior needs work or replaced..
Needs new battery

New parts I have installed or have
New Temp sending unit (installed)
Used (but like new) Grant GT Challenger wheel (almost finished installing)
New Starter (in box still)
New Belt (ran for 5 min with this belt on)
New Smog pump delete pulley (ran for 5 min)
Used 86 700R4 and torque converter (not installed yet)
Set of used Grand Prix seats (no rips and are in good shape)
New Header Panel (headlight panel) (almost installed thus is why bumper is off)

I plan on putting my Ion wheels on my 81 Firebird if they come out looking right, then after i buy my friends Camaro then i'll think about putting those on it.

This is the only REAL rust on this car, im guessing the paint got chipped off or something and they never put primer or anything on it to protect it and it rusted.


But on a good note, the motor in this thing sounds TIGHT.. no knocks or rattles.. and it has true duels off the mans, and sounds real nice.. not to loud, but a deep sound.. 1 Muffler needs the hanger welded back on to it.. it stops right behind the mufflers infront of the axle.

I had planned on buying 2 new doors and doing the paint and body work on this car, but my gf needs some wheels soon as she starts a new job soon. So im in a tuff spot, cant take my time on this car anymore, and with all the damage my job took by the tornado, i'll be working 12 1/2 hr days, and working 8 hr shifts on night guard on the weekends... so im gonna be to busy to get this car ready in 2 weeks.

If he comes by to look at it, the 81 Firebird IS NOT FOR SALE lol But the 77 Vette is (but costly) and the 67 4x4 ford is as well.. Gotta get some stuff out of this place..

Oh also, I WILL take things in on trade
Such as

built up 350 or 400 chevys
Pontiac 400 motor and pontiac th350 or th400 trans.
RUNNING CAR/Truck

But cash is always the best
