Tranny swap done (pics)
W/ the auto:
Everything stripped out:
Shifter hole cut, pedals and transmission mounted:
At this point it was drivable and I was going to school like this for about a week:
Tying up some loose ends:
My car was out of commission for about a month...but most of that was spent idle trying to track down parts. As far as labor goes I probably spent 3 full weekends.....6 or 7 days working all day on it and thats going VERY SLOW and taking lots of breaks, could probably do it again in a weekend. Total cost about $650.

Re: Tranny swap done (pics)
Done! Topped it off with a new GM shift knob, which besides the gearbox itself was the single most expensive part of the swap.
I also took the opportunity to install a full LS1 e-brake system from the handle back.

I used a holesaw to make the original hole, then shaped it into an ellipse with a dremel cutoff wheel, slowly chipping off little bits at a time.

I have a bad back that requires very unique support that I've never been able to find until I got these seats. For whatever reason, they contour/support my lower back just perfect and I could sit in them forever. Best money I've ever spent on my car. Thanks to these seats I'm actually able to enjoy my Camaro.
To you, I owe a life dept!
