Volo Auto Museum or Union Railway Museum(both?) Gathering and when?
Basically seeing what is the more popular option here ot both if it may be.
Been 2-3 years since we last did Volo and since there always turning cars over, its abou time to revisit them.
Has like 6-7 large barns filled with cars and a gift shop and antique stores available for the ladies :-)
Union Railway Museum was a small gathering of us late in the season last year. If you like large engines and lots of metal, you'll fit right in. They have everything from steam, diesel and electric locomotives. We got beat up last time around cause the rain came and did us in :-)
Is one or the other your preference and should we do it in summer weather or wait for fall. If both, remember we need lead time and cant stack events up on top of each other.
Vote for either/or/both and summer or fall dates.(u can vote for fall or summer and which gathering or both)

I would like to check out that Volo Auto Museum. Seems like a cool place to go. I always check out what they have on their website. If you haven't looked already I know they may still have a 1991 B4C Camaro with all the police stuff still on it. Seems like a pretty cool car

Volo
I live 10 minutes north of the Volo auto museum. They have different cars in there ALL the time. If you enjoy old cars, it's a great place. Not too sure, but I think they've added on during the past couple years. Maybe a couple extra antique shops or something like that. As far as hot days, I think the buildings are air conditioned, but they are not all connected. You have to walk from building to building. The cars there are incredible.

For me, all of June is free at this point.
Getting the details tied up ASAP would be good though before I commit to pitting for a Late Model when I'm not open tracking my car.
Yeehaw, goin' dirt racin' too

volo summer definatley. The lighting isn't all that bad, I had a pretty basic digital camera last time and took some decent pics.
Although my oldest kid would be in heaven at the railway museum. But, i'm trying to get away from the house, been grounded to it WAY too long.

Throwing my 2 pennies in here. Its summertime, starting in June you have graduations, weddings, Peotone swap, then 4th of July, family picnics and vacations Sprinkle in a few other activities like the drag strip and that about kills summer off. I go to places like Volo in the winter time.

I vote volo in the summer. though fall works too cause I am around indefinetly now been at least 4 years since I was up there for one of the auctions. alot of the cars are nice. some are not as good as they seem though. more than a few cars were heavy in the bondo department. you can learn alot about body work on those cars with a magnet.

i voted for both...
i'll tell you right now, volo has 2 thirdgens there..
one a Turbo T/A....in prestine condition..
another a 87 GTA convertible...
however reading the description from what was told about that car..
i believe the person who wrote about it doesn't know anything about thirdgens.....

I'm throwing my vote in for an early sun. meeting.
I believe they open at 10 so if we set meet time for 10 -10:30 in a sun morning 99% of people here can make it.
I knwo there are lots who work on sat but off sun and I'm one of them now since Pipefitting school will screw my saturdays for the next 6 mths.
