Thirdgen Fest '04 info
Welcome to the newest board on Thirdgen. This board was set up to promote our annual thirdgen party, Thirdgen Fest '04 (Presented by Thirdgen Ranch). The party is held every Memorial Day weekend (last Saturday in May). This is our third year and it continues to get better every year. The party was basically a local event the first two years but we're promoting it nationally this year. The main reason for this was because of the lack of a centrally located national thirdgen event. Many people wanted to see the Thirdgen Nationals moved to a more central location in the country this year. However, it looks as if the event is going to stay on the east coast. Because of our location, I thought our party would make a perfect national event.
The party is located at my house which is about 40 minutes south of Chicago so we have a good central location in the country. I have over six and a half acres of land so I've got room for plenty of cars. Last years event drew about 50 cars and this year we're expecting 100 to 150. Here's what planned so far.
The party is on May 29th and starts at 11:00 am. The party is completely free with all food and drinks provided!!! Of course, they'll be plenty of cars to check out, music, bonfire, etc. The night will probably end with a cruise to one of the local cruise night spots. Also, I part out a LOT of thirdgens and have TONS of parts available so if you need parts I can help you with that as well. There's also the possibilty of a track day at Rt. 41 dragstrip the following day but that is still undecided.
Also, this is the first year that we are going to raffle of a car. I have a '91 B4C Camaro (police car) we are going to raffle off for $50 a ticket. So, one lucky person is going to get to go home with a very rare B4C Camaro. Not a bad way to end the day!!!
Of course, this is just the basic information and more will be posted soon. As the party gets closer we'll post directions as well as motel and campground information. There will also be a post to RSVP so we can get an idea of how many people to expect. Stay tuned to this board for more info. Thirdgen Fest '04 will be BIG!!!

Denny,
I wanted to come down last year but couldn't make it so I will be there this year for sure.
As my bud Tyler mentioned we're going to try and get a caravan from WI to cruise down.
Scoty
Oh yeah I will also bring my shopping list too

Yep, just show up. If you will be taking 294 South (or even if you're not but still want to join in), you can join our caravan we are organizing on the Northwest Indiana/South Chicago Suburbs board. We will be meeting at the corner of 95th Street and Ridgeland Avenue in Chicago Ridge in the Bennigan's Parking lot. Its about a mile and a hlaf off of 294. Then we will all cruise to Crete together. Check out the sticky in the NW IN/Chicago Burbs board for more info and to sign up.

I came last year. I am the kid with the red 92 rs in crete. actually you bought my old seats from me LFN AT U. well I will be coming this year too. Unfortunetly my car won't be as "cool" as I would like it to be by then. I have a nice aftermarket TPI setup to go on but since I get back from school only a week or two before then I won't have it swapped in yet.

Hi guys I am new. However this sounds great. I want to go and I live near cloumbus, In. About 60 minuets south of indianapolis. I will need directions. My car is a heep but this sounds fun. I will need to ge a full exhaust first and get my hood to stay on. It is fiberglass with a big scoop. I am using zuse fasteners to hold it down. If looks dont matter I will try to be there. The track sounds good to me. I am slow but it will be fun.

This is the same week end that the Great North Central Memorial Classic show in Arlington Heights. With the majority of Camaros going to this show will this have any effect on your show.

Regular car show vs. third gen meet......hmmmm....... not even close in my book and that’s not including the extra benefit of the caravan from Bennigan's

If we were talking about any other car show I would agree with you. This is not just a car show. It is by Worldwide Camaro Club is will probably be the largest Camaro show in this area after the Camaro Superfest. I attend a large number of shows every year with the primary factor being Camaros. I have been to the Super Chevy Shows in Memphis, Joliet, and Indianapolis. I have been to the Camaros at Carlisle show and the Camaro Superfest show. I believe I was even at a local show with you. It would have been a couple years ago in Taylorville, IL. If that was when, I have about a half dozen pictures of your car. It is really sharp.

Thanks! Ya that was me I was down there with Jeff he had that blue pro street 85 TA. Didn’t mean to sound sarcastic, just for the last couple of years we have been trying to go to more shows that involve some kind of cruising vs. sitting all the time like Jacksonville, Streator, Woodward (*** I miss Duquoin) plus this sounds like a good time. Been looking at your web site for awhile was going to give you guys a yell and find out about stuff going on around Springfield and try to make it down there!
Edit: I tried to find info online about the "Great North Central Memorial Classic show in Arlington Heights" and can't come up with anything, also the link to "Worldwide Camaro Club" is dead do you have a link?

Yeah, try the web address below. I will also include a registration form for the show with the items I wrote you an email about. Have you tried the Camaro Superfest in Ann Arbor. If you do not like sitting you will love part of this show. Check the address for their site also.
