This guy has a 3225lb 84 Trans am with a naturally aspirated 440cid small block chev running 9.23 @148.7.

I don't recognize the car as on TGO so I thought I'd post here to see if you guys know of anyone running within the same parameters.
BTW - the "Outragous Engine Combinations" is pretty cool in itself so I was going to post the link anyways.

Took along time to get the car to work, My Engine builder( HOMER RACING ENGINES) is the best out there; to me. Future plans would to be; getting the car to go out; instead of up. i know the car could go high 8's to low 9's.the motors making plenty, and to be the Fastest 3rd. Generation Car in the Country on Stock Style Suspension, with a 23 degree head, for a SBC. with NO POWER ADDERS. ALL MOTOR.
Give me some ideas if you know someone who has a car like mine with what i described above. not tubbed,no chassis car,all factory glass in car.

JRS - besides your car, what's the fastest stock style suspension 23* NA sbc third gen? Or even with 18* heads?
What other setups are you shooting to beat?

Well, an 18* head flows more than mine, like 370's to 400's, so that would be hard to compare a 23* head, but there are 23* heads out that i know that flow in the 380's or more, just that spending $10,000.00 to run with the best is alot of money, plus getting your car to handle over 850hp's is hard to do now, i tryed some time back, getting on every f-body site and posting who had the fastest 23* headed car people don't talk or tell you the truth, but at 9.23 @ 148, there's faster cars out there trust me. i'm just looking to be the fastest 23*,stock susp., car in the country. thanks. JR.

Thats an awesome setup u have to go low 9`s NA. I cant wait to get my car to the strip hopefully this year ,im going to be running a 18* setup.
My heads are 257cc runners, but this year i'm opening them up to 305cc, for more head flow.

i'll give a secret, if you lightly buff out all the CNC marks in the chambers, int. runners, ext. you could pick up as much as 1* to 1-1/2*, thats 10hp. let me know how you made out with flow #'s. JR.

Where do you get headers to fit 18* heads in a thirdgen, or spreadport headers to fit our cars for that matter? I guess you could use the spread port adapter plates, but then the headers wouldn't fit in our engine bay anyways....

Spend the $$$ and have a set made. If you've got an engine of that caliber, chances are that a set of off-the-shelf headers aren't going to do the trick for you.

Re: How fast can a 3rd gen go with a stock style suspension and a 23* NA sbc?
I know of two faster with stock type suspension and a SBC, but it's a twin turbo car, all these guys with huge lifts and big compression are great for class cars, but for the easiest on the wallet I know of 2 faster than the ET posted, not sure what their mph is though. None of them say much other than I know for sure it's a torque arm setup in the rear and twin turbo SBC with 23' heads.

Re: How fast can a 3rd gen go with a stock style suspension and a 23* NA sbc?
Just checked out Stahl and Lemon's prices. You gotta be pretty serious to drop $1200-$1800 just on headers. I tried getting a quick total with some spread port or 18* heads, forged internals, headers, etc, but my calculator ran out of digits....

Re: How fast can a 3rd gen go with a stock style suspension and a 23* NA sbc?
theres cars running in the 8's with stock style sus and 23* heads, usually turbo cars though. my car is stock sus, but im gonna be running 18* heads. no clue what it will run. anticipating low 9's, maybe a high 8 if it hooks.
