Thirdgen Representin' at the LSX shootout! 9.0 True Street Title!
Took mine down to Indy at the LSX shootout. Since I built the car as a fast street car, True Street is the ultimate category. 21 mile cruise, 3 back to back passes.
Anyhow, ended up winning the 9.0 second True Street Title!! Some discussion over at LS1tech.... I don't think they saw my Thirdgen coming...

Thought you all might appreciate,

What happened on that second pass? That could have killed your chance.
You got a typo in your sig

Unfortunately, I spun the second pass a bit...
With 100 cars running 3 back to back passes, the track goes away I've found.

I was planning on running true street but didn't, I only ran the LSX rumble class. The fuel pump wasn't supplying enough fuel volume so it was going very lean on the top end..didn't want to risk hurting the engine. Yesterday I talked to aeromotive and they said my pump should fill a gallon jug in 28 sec, mine took 72 sec. I'm surprised it was running as good as it was being starved for fuel like that. Hopefully we can meet up sometime. Very nice car!

Not nearly as well as I'd hoped. I've only made a few passes this year and I'm still trying to work out the bugs . I ran in the 10.5-10.7 range which is horrible for my combination. The AFR meter that I bought before this event did confirm it was going lean and by how much so I feel much better after figuring out my fuel pump is bad. My AFR would start at about 13.0-13.2 and be at 14.8-15.2 by the end of a run. I was slowing down about .15 in the evening in better air because it was so lean. I'm lucky I didn't burn a piston or valve. I've got a feeling its going to be a whole different car with enough fuel volume.
Issue #2 is that it isn't hooking well, it hooked better with my old SBC and trick springs. The new combination with the Spohn coil overs isn't giving me the weight transfer that I used to have. I may need to try some lighter springs in the coil overs and/or get the torque converter adjusted.
Even though its an underperforming turd it did look good with the new Weld RTS rims though

I've yet to see a coil-over kit using light enough springs. Stangs and f-bodies alike, their "drag" springs are well suited for decent handling, their heavier springs just beat you up riding in the seat. - I only run 10" 175# springs with the blown BBC hanging out front. If I ran much strut travel I would have to run an even lighter 12" to keep it from un-loading.
