"midnight grey/dark charcoal"
If I was to make a REALLY dark grey... Would you suggest I use white and black? Or should I start with grey and add black...? I also want to use a matte clear. Is that hard to apply?

Re: "midnight grey/dark charcoal"
If your talking about mixing off the shelf house paint than I would start with dark grey and add black. That being said... Otherwise go to a automotive paint supply store that mixes paint. Then take a look at there paint color cards. The store I used had dozens of cards that had all "actual" GM colors for different years. They can also mix it in different size containers so you only have to buy the amount you need.

I like the looks of that mineral grey, its a nice color and its still light enough to apply black stripes if you ever wanted to..I like that combo.

Duplicolour. Pre-mixed all you do if you want different colours is mix the different colours they sell together.

I have seen a IROC that had been painted with a fairly dark grey but not dark enough to hide the black racing stripes.(cowl hood)Looked killer. If I ever buy another Third Gen.Thats what I will paint it.Have you ever thought about a combo like that?

I think this is a pretty badass paintjob, although I would have went a bit darker with the grey myself.

Re: "midnight grey/dark charcoal"
Honestly if you feel you can mix the paint properly, head to Pep Boys - pick up a can of Duplicolor (some name) Silver, a can of Black and just go at it (the cans have a first gen Camaro on it)... Not much money and a Great way to learn the process of painting your vehicle on a budget... You can even Rent most of the tools you need as well...

Re: "midnight grey/dark charcoal"
We don't have pepboys in Canada, but we have Lordco (its pretty much the same but they don't service the vehicles themselves) And tbh paintcodes wont help if Im mixing colours myself and using a specific brand of paint. I have no idea what brand they would sell me cuz they put it in a Lordco labeled can. Duplicolor is pre-mixed with the reducer and all the other goodies.

Re: "midnight grey/dark charcoal"
My camaro is "Storm Gray Metallic" and my silverado is "Graystone Metallic". I am really happy with the color of the camaro. As you can see it can look really dark some ways, but not as dark others.

Re: "midnight grey/dark charcoal"
Im going to paint it DSG and just do the stripes up as decals. Anyone whos interested in Decals PM me with your ideas and I can see how much it would be to have them commissioned and sent to you! BTW by ideas I mean sketches or photos of cars with similar stripes or the like
