A.T.G.O's next gathering... Midnight Madness at SIR!

For anyone interested, SIR is throwing Midnight Madness on sept. 13th it starts and midnight and probably won't end till the break of dawn.

Basically how it works is its not bracket racing, you choose who you want to race,a nd you race that person! settle grudges between friends and hand ricers thier asses!

I already know of a few members going, lets make our presence felt!

Who is interested?

Guys I'm so ****ing bummed. I was going to run my firebird at the track FINALLY on the 13th and get some 12 second uncorrected timeslips damnit, but I ****ing fry my clutch Friday night while romping on it while racing some jackass. **** **** ****. Oh well, whenever stuff breaks its just an omen to replace it with something better, stronger, and faster! Sucks dick though, my firebird is runnning SOOOOO good, hence the reason the clutch went up in flames Instead of running the camaro again I'm thinking of doing an all out assault on trying to get my grand prix legal and run that. I need to run a FAST car this time. Sick of ****ing with the 14 second bracket

Sergio's almost like Thomas, likes to tawk all that **** but can't back it up.

If you really wanna race, I'll go buy some tires Friday afternoon. My tread is almost all gone after our trip to my storage unit, and my S stripes are *still* going across Tanque Verde, even after it rained.

I'm not afraid to admit Synapsis is faster than me, it's true! I just like racing, even fi I know I will lose

MRT89RS:

You say you car feels so much more powerful, the fact you went from a 2.73 open dif. to a 3.23 Posi is where your getting your kick.

If you even get in front of me, it will be when we launch, after thats its over buddy!

P.S. Don't aim for mid 15's, I dont want you to set yourself up for disapointment, remember what I ran the first time I took her out lol.

Damn, with all this sh*t talking goin' on, this weeked should be pretty interesting. I think we're all going to have a good time. Before we go though we need to meet up. Is there anyplace in particlular that everybody wants to meet before rolling down to the track?

Chris, are you going to be able to get the Formula fixed to go to the track? After seeing it at Willie's house, I wanna see it run.

i think we sould all meet at sonic eric and i thought it would be a good idea if we all pulled up there in our thirdgens before going to the illegals or the track some time. The closest one to sir that i can think of would be the one on golflinks and pantano next to the chevron, let me know what you guys think.

Hey, I'm down with that. Pulling in to a Sonic before the Drags, kind of Nastalgic if you ask me. Besides, it'll be great to have Sonic filled full of F-bodies.

No, unfortnately I don't have money to fix it, just paid for my WRT102 book.............$80!!!!! Won't get paid again for a while. I'll probally buy a clutch with the engine money when Sergio puts my 305 in his car, so I'll get it to the track next time. So its either I try and make my Grand Prix legal or take the camaro which is 100% track legal, which should run 14.2 or so uncorrected since this time around its got better gears, a posi, and a better carburetor. It would be nice to get the Grand Prix legal and put a fuel pump on it so I could run the nitrous

A no-block? You're just jealous that I can lift my engine block by myself, half of it in one hand and the other half in the other.

And it's not a death box! It's got 5 point harnesses..... on the driver's side only... because well, the driver's more important.

What time does everybody want to meet up at Sonic? I at least want to be there early enough to hang for a little bit and get some of their crappy food.

Yeah Sergio. Maybe we can rematch on Golf Links by the Sonic....

Oh wait, nevermind... that street is a hill there, you'd have rolled all the way down to the fitness club before the light turned green.

Gee, thanks a lot Eric.

I wish I had half the time and money you guys do to fix up my car. Kinda hard to put money into a car with a wife and two kids. I have only had it since December, and went from low 16's to high 14's corrected. Not too bad if you ask me. I have put too much money in my car just to keep it running. Things seem to be getting better. Not too much broken on it right now.

I hope to get the knock in check soon. Should be running good then. I am just getting TOO much spark retard.

I have to work early on Saturday morning (5 am), so I wont be racing, but if you guys head to Sonic, I am down with that. Gonna bring the camera to get some pics. Laters, TL

hahahah TPI is so funny. I SWEAR you, Mike and Sergio just give me WAY too much material to work with........

"Well, got too much spark retard so cars gonna run like crap until I get this and this and that........and do this.....plus buy this and modify my blah blah blah and not to forgot my ECM is throwing codes at me which is why car runs 2 seconds slower than estimated, so then I gotta go get this thingabob and splice my auto-crap-I-already-know-is-broken-xray machine and its gonna tell me "g0d givish the TPI" then I I gotta get my injectors all pulsing at 1.8 m/s so my car will drive farther than 20 feet away without surging and dying cuz the hidden spark code is giving my computer HIV.........ect......ect.......ect......" BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA MIKE COME ON I'M JUST JOKING, you know secretely I pray for your TPI to work so you won't convert to carb, COUGH.

Wanna hear how it goes on a carbed car? Cars got too much timing, so I dialed it back a few degrees with a 9/16 wrench. Hmm.......problems done! Lets go racing! heheheh

Damn my sides hurts from laughing after re-reading that second paragraph :lala:

Hey Chris... why don't you make fun of a *working* TPI?

Damn, I've got too much timing at 2100 RPM when I'm in 3rd gear. *click click* There, fixed. Hey, I have too much fuel at 3500 RPM in second gear. *click click* Fixed.

Wrenches are old technology!

And yes, my VW has carbs on it. Two to be exact. Ever sync up a set of carbs? Ever have to rejet the carb because the EPA changed the oxygen content on the pumps? I think we should put 4 Weber 40 IDF carbs on your Grand Prix and see how much ya like carbs then.

*click click* Look ma, no wrenches!

Edit: For the record tho, if you're going to get a car to wrench on, and you don't have that much experience in it (I've been tuning carbs since I was 9), you should start with a carb. It's simpler. I'm a TPI fan because of the control you have over *everything*.

Those yahoos failed to tell me they moved bowling up to 10. And I was looking for your Iroc in the parking lot, not remembering you had the rental. But I was there for an hour tho.

I think you should race the rental.

I got the Pontiac, quick little b**ch , I might just have the urge to race it at the track, it is SO much nicer than the mitsubishi, FULLY loaded.

too bad its a Grand Am , on a brighter note I raced a ***** and handed his as to him in it already LOL!

Hey Synapsis, what are you talking about?? I make fun of your working TPI ALL the time!

hmm..........yeah its just so much easier to adjust a TPI going "click click" except for the fact the you have to have like $1,000 in equipement and laptops to go "click click" before you make those easy adjustements How much does a screwdriver cost? And trying to sync a carb is plain retarded on a small block because there would NEVER be a need for more than one carb, because carburetor and manifold technology has reached the point where a tuned Demon or double pumper on top of a hi rise single plane is practically impossible to improve upon.

Hey if we are meeting at 11pm then Sergio wanna meet at my job a little eariler? I might not have to close tonight.

I'll meet you there Chris, I ain't got shiznit to do tonight, so I'm just hanging out at work.

It's only 200$ to burn chips, and it doesn't *require* a laptop, you can drag a full computer into your car. I'm working on making a program for my TI calculator so you can eliminate the computer completely and just scan with the same calc most people use for college.

So you're saying those tiny venturis can feed all 8 cylinders of *any* small block chevy? The intake on my VW is massive compared to the throats of Vadeem's carb on Nina's car, and I pull so much air through em it sounds like vacuum cleaner. My VW only displaces 2.1L too. Do they make carbs with huge throats?

I'm curious to see what CFM my carbs are rated at... *checks the web*

Does anyone even know what time Sonic closes? The ones in San Antonio always closed at 11 on Fri and Sat.

(Thomas picks up the phone)......................................

Ok, they close at 12, so we can hang for an hour or so. Later

Ok, cool.

Well, it appears that my carbs flow 150 CFM a throat, for a total of 600 CFM. It's funny that I have as much carb as a lot of small block chevys, with half the cylinders and even less displacement.

Edit: I dunno how to get to his work, or when. Call me when ya go Sergio.

Tiny venturi's?? I was talking about a Dominater on top of a Super Victor single plane being the ultimate carb setup. They sell dominaters that flow like 2,000 cfm! The barrels are so huge they require special intake that have a larger "square" so the barrels can open. By the way...................Nascar uses a version of the same 750 double pumper that i have on Nina's car and my firebird that feeds 850HP on a 358, those cfm ratings are only a baseline, actual testing on a flow test machine shows that a higher HP engine will make a 750 carb actually flow 900 cfm, and a lower HP engine might only use like 600 cfm from a 750 carb, and so on
