cyclone/typhoon ecm
where to find one? there aren't exactly too many in junkyards can it be bought from the gm dealer? if so what do i ask for (as far as year and and stuff are concerned) and how much should i be expected to pay?

you can get them from autozone and other parts stores, and a gm parts counter. Most autozone's don't have them in their stores, but you can buy it from their website. it's 79.99 + 75 core charge. I got my latest one on ebay for i think 100 buy it now.
the autozone part # is 77-7749
if you go to parts stores for one, just ask for a ecm for one of the cars that came with the 749, like say a 91 gmc syclone.

As long as you use saturated High impedence injectors, just use a 7730, wire it to match a SyTy and load $58 code changed to 8 cyl into the prom. Simple, down and dirty. BW
