Actually, later year thirdgens (starting in either 89 or 90) used the same starter for both manual and automatic cars, so fortunately I was able to keep my old one. HOWEVER I did have to unbolt it...

Honestly, on second thought, that 19 tooth that you may have ought to suffice. That's for a 3.42 rear end and it should be close enough. Let me know if you have it and how much, thanks!

Thanks but after doing some research, I'm going to need the 20 tooth driven gear. My T5 already has a 22 tooth (came out of a car that had a 3.73 rear end).

Your description is pretty vague, but if it is in fact just the paint cracking, there's absolutely no need for bondo. Just sand down and repaint. Post up some pictures of the damage if you can.

Vin checks aren't very accurate for vehicle trims... I've seen countless base model Firebirds get labeled as Firebird Formulas through vin checkers. Best bet is to check your RPO codes.
