Thats exactly what my old, 100% bone stock 89' auto with the 3.07 gear ran (on a 2.0 60ft, though). I did minor boltons and got some good results:

- flowmaster catback... 13.8 at 100mph on a 2.0...

About 350 - 360 rwhp. They weigh alot, though, tipping the scales at about 3800lbs.

I would love to race a stock one in my C5. Back when they were new, it was a drivers race between the non-Z06...

Most average drivers run low 13s - high 12s in them stock, however, I dont think you'll find too many stock ones running around anymore.

Fully aware of what the '01 Cobra is capable of. Had a Ford salesman buddy back in the late 90s/early 2000s that would purchase a new Cobra everytime they added something performance-wise to them....

Corvettes are not light... just cause their bodies are made of fiberglass doesnt mean they're lightweight. C4 Corvettes weigh just as much as a thirdgen, so my examples certainly do apply.

Have to disagree with you... here are a few reasons why:

1) my old '89 TPI auto Corvette ran a 13.4 at 102mph on a 1.9 60ft. Only mods were free mods, a catback, K&N drop in filter, and a AFPR....

Best way to learn is to do it yourself. On a Wed or Fri night, its only an extra $5 vs the standard entry fee to make some runs. I couldn't imagine going to cecil and not racing for that price

My car does not need a rebuild... it consumes no oil and has good compression. There are quite a few LS1s that have gone over 200k and still are going strong. Some even spraying nitrous on high...
