Re: opinions on side mirrors and headlight pockets

I have to agree with that. There's a local Trans Am that is pure white with a black spoiler. Looks nice.

Just enough black to balance it out and I think it would look good.

Edit: Also, well...

Re: My First Ever V-8 Swap--LT1/T56 into 86 Z28

I'm in Powell. There's a few other Thirdgen owners here. My friend has a 91 Camaro, and I know a guy with a Trans Am. And a few stray Camaro's around town.

Re: Show car trick, WD-40

I suppose in theory this makes sense. I just know that I have the hardest time getting WD-40 off of paint if it's not on purpose.

Re: Does anyone have a cherry bomb?

I had (and this is my truck again) removed the cats because the membrane inside of them had gotten so clogged up over the years. Supposedly it was supposed to give an extra horse power or two. Who...

Re: Does anyone have a cherry bomb?

As far as I'm aware true dual exhaust is when you have two seperate pipes running from each exhaust manifold on the engine to the rear. It sounds to me like you have a Y-pipe running to a single pipe...

Re: Will they fit? (headers)

If they're anything like the Hedman long tubes, they come in some sort of non heat treated paint. There was a slip in the box that told us that the paint would burn off after a few minutes of use. My...

Re: How do u make Windshield wiper tanks white again

I know it sounds stupid. But I actually just painted mine white. I could have done a better job (got some silly runs) but it looks 100% better. Obvious problem is that you can't see through them, you...

Re: Saving a 82 firebird from a junkyard grave. Best Friends summer project.

Well last night was great. It was the first time in 10 years that the bird drove by its own power. I caught video of its first full drive.

Re: Green Headlights on my trans am

Could only think of the Black Beauty from Green Hornet when I saw this. I like. Again, not very practical probably, but still cool.

Re: Saving a 82 firebird from a junkyard grave. Best Friends summer project.

Actually that's not too bad of an idea. I did a search and found one. That's pretty neat. Might see how much it cost to go get a sheet of metal.

Re: Saving a 82 firebird from a junkyard grave. Best Friends summer project.

Funny you say that. There's quite a few cheap solutions to cleaning off oil on the engine parts. There's this stuff at Wal-mart called Purple Power and it works great too. Same thing though, dries...

Which I think turned out real nice inside the car:

Holy cow it's been a long time since I posted the work on this car. Prepare yourself for a lot of images (56k beware!)

So here's the original engine we thought we were going to use:

Re: Saving a 82 firebird from a junkyard grave. Best Friends summer project.

So. Turns out that the engine we got from the guy was a 305. After spending $400 on both the engine and transmission, should we ask for our money back and hope we can find a 350? Or do we just keep...

Re: Saving a 82 firebird from a junkyard grave. Best Friends summer project.

It very well may come down to that. Looking at some other wiring setups... it looks like we have everything. But for whatever reason it got cut up and then put back together.

I actually did find this:

That should help a bit.

Re: Saving a 82 firebird from a junkyard grave. Best Friends summer project.

We're running in to a bit of a road block. While playing with the wiring, we've stumbled in to a horrible hacked up mess. We've narrowed it down to what we believe are the most important wires right...

Re: Saving a 82 firebird from a junkyard grave. Best Friends summer project.

Hi there.

I suppose you can say that I'm officially the legal owner of the vehicle. I'm happy to say that I managed to get the title for it, and that we are still waiting on the bill of sale....
