Mine was after the hard feed line before the cfi system. if you follow the feed line from the engine bay towards the tank you should find it somewhere. Search autozone.com or another parts site to...

My only guess as to why the return is plugged would be that the previous owner changed to a carb pickup in the tank and no longer needed the return.

I am about halfway through this exact swap and it seems to me that some of the passenger side harness is needed for the oil pressure gauge and fuel pump relay. Correct me if im wrong please.

the sending unit itself is fine and on the motor. the wires that connected to it are attatched to the passenger side ecm harness. in everything ive read people say "you dont need the passenger side...

I am kind of in the same spot. From what i can tell all the gauges should work with the exception of the oil pressure gauge because the sending unit connector appears to be in the passenger side ecm...

That is correct. I have even removed the bar from the car to try the bolt itself thinking that maybe 1 side of the non adjustable portion was a larger diameter than the other but the unthreaded...
