You will need the solenoid connected or will get a check engine light. You could get PROM burned for it with EGR delete and other parameters diasabled or changed There is a gentleman on this forum...

That is the coolant sensor for the ECM. The temp gauge sending unit is in the drivers side head between 1 and 2 spark plugs.

The backing plates on my car are un-coated. And I know that they haven't been messed with. I think that the motor mounts are bare also just because they get so rusty.

valve cover color on center bolted covers

I have I hope is a valid question on newer engines 5.0 and 5.7 I have seen both silver and black in colors I am sure there is some rhyme and reason for this on oem engines thanks for sharing
