When your engine is ideling fuel demand is very low so the needle and seat in the carb closes and the fuel stops flowing. As you know you can't compress a liquid so the diaphram in the pump stops...

OSU-MET, you had better keep a close watch on the upper rad hose because when the engine gets hot or you reach high RPM the upper hose will come in contact with the A/C v-belt.

Daytona_83, you had better keep an eye on that upper rad. hose because the belt for the A/C can come in contact with the bottom of that hose. You may have the updated bracket that holds that hose up...

Yup, that nitrideding would be the way to go and anyhow I just don't know why someone would pay $5 a qt for oil on a stock 305 or 350 Camaro. On a good day they are hard pressed to see 5000 rpm...

Read the artical in Post #52. The truth is that you should use conv. oil on flat tappet cams and stay away from synthetic type oils and don't change your oil too often.
