For one you need a cat not some gutted one on there. Without a cat just about any car will fail for high hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide. Put a new cat on it and see what it does.

for the poor mans test you can go get some intake cleaner or carb cleaner and spray around the vacuum lines and throttle body and see if the idle changes. If it goes up then you found a vacuum leak....

As far as i know they do not make a harness from swaping from a v6 to a v8 for a thirdgen camaro or firebird. I could be wrong... You need to back-track with wiring diagrams alldata etc and figure...
