What does the undercarriage look like on both cars. If the car doesn't rust away then anything can be rebuilt over the years. So can rust but it's alot of work.

I think the wire for my coolant temp gauge goes to the sensor in the drivers side head and is green. All the switch in the head does is ground the wire which pegs the temp gauge.
