Its going to burn off. powder coating is good up to like 400 to 500 F . I know on rice burners you sould not put powder coating on the valve covers if it has a header.

I think with headers they have to be ceramic coated. powder coating will not stand the heat.

I think u need to spray more than just one coat to cover the 600 scratches. Not sure Its been awhile since i have sprayed dupont. Use PPG now.A good thing to do is spray one coat than get some 800...
