I recently swapped the auto in my 3.42 geared 86 IROC to a t5. My tires are the stock 245/50/16's (which are similar in height to yours.) You need the 7 tooth drive gear usually dark purplish blue)...

I've had a similar sound come from a few different things. Panhard, control arm, and trans mount. Check the torque on the bolts too. Don't overlook the exhaust as well.

If these are GArrett T3 turbo's, and NOT mitsubishi or VNT type, they can support more than 150. Turbo dodge's came with either a 2.2 or 2.5 liter, rated at 174 hp for the turbo II 2.2 liter version...
