I was gifted this car for Xmas, hell of a gift right!? After reading this thread over and over. Adjustments too numerous to count. And many hours of reading forums and tech articles. I changed the 80...

Re: 87 GTA stumbles going over pass

Old thread, I know. But, is is possible the timing mark on the balancer slipped? After replacing all those parts, seems like timing could be the culprit. Did you ever verify the mark at tdc? Also,...

Yellow/Orange spark at coil

Hi again guys!

I think I've found a major component in my fuel mileage/miss at idle problem. I hooked a spark plug into the distributor end of my coil wire, and had someone crank the motor a few...

Re: Distributor plate rotating?

Then why isn't the distributor mounting bracket moving where it's bolted to the engine? And why isn't the rotor rotating with the distributor when I rotate the E.S.T. mounting plate("metal plate")?

Re: Distributor plate rotating?

The hold down bolt is tight. So are the two screws that hold the cap down. The distributor itself is not rotating, just the cap. And the metal plate the cap is screwed to.
