If i remember right once you wash the K&N filter it will be white. Order clear filter oil from summit or whatever color you may like and problem solved!

I used to do that with great luck on carbed and tbi engines. Never really had one of my tpi engines get bad enough deposits to go to the trouble but i dont see any reason it would hurt.
