Don't cut your heating elements!! The ECM sends voltage through them to maintain a constant temperature. That is how it measures airflow.

Although this is an older suggestion, if anyone wants to try Styrofoam I have almost unlimited access to large blocks of it. They measure about 24"x60"x8".

Oh and about your polished valve covers....

One of the things I really like about your engine compartment is that even with that monster intake, it could still pass for stock to a lot of people....

Are you sure about 11.8 ?? Motor Trend has it at 12.8 for the GT Premium. Their numbers are usually a little on the conservative side so 12.5 or 12.6 wouldn't surprise me. Granted that is still...

The notchback itself doesn't look bad at all. I'm not a big fan of how high the spoiler rises off the deck. If it sat a couple inches lower it would look much better.

But that is just my opinion....

I'm looking for a set of 4 wheels with tires to swap onto my car during restoration. Condition is not a major factor as long as they hold air.

I see that Hawk's has an SS-style hood for Firebirds that they refer to as the "Super Duty". But, the only picture available shows it mounted on 85-90 style TA.

I always thought this type of hood...

Your stock ECM and chip will work fine, but you will see the most gain if you learn to burn your own chips. Lots of the good advice in the DIY Prom section.

My advice would be to just bite the bullet, and drop the pan. The rubber seal was probaly damaged when they did the cam swap and I'm sure you don't want to spend a day trying to fix it only to find...
