Re: Couple strange reading in TunerPro RT V5

You may have a "bad" ECM. I had similar issues and I replaced mine with a rebuilt ECM from Advance Auto and my readings were normal in TunerPro after that. In addition, my ESC and other sensors...

Re: I need help finding length of pushrods

When I built my 355 engine combo, I had to get slightly shorter pushrods. .050 or .100 can make all the difference when it comes to valve train geometry if you want it right / correct.

Re: Iroc Z 5.7 tpi cylinder head options??

I think the proper term here would be "re-tuning", not necessarily "de-tuning" the TPI system. GM learned a lot from TPI and the LT-1 / 4 motors. The LS1 is basically what TPI should have been had...

Re: 305 Piston dish?

4 ~ 6cc ARE flat-top pistons. The valve cut-outs in the pistons are where the 4 ~ 6cc come into play. Depending on what brand piston you get, they will be in the 4 ~ 6cc range.

Re: 305 Piston dish?

Re: 305 Piston dish?

In this case 0.015, which is what I took off of it (steel shim head gasket from the factory). A lot of people use them for rebuilds and have had good luck with them.

Re: 305 Piston dish?

I just tore apart my '87 305. I have not taken out the pistons yet, but they "look" to be about 10cc dish pistons. this particular motor had the metal shim head gasket... so if you plug my numbers...

Re: Spark plug gap on stock 350tpi

I also use 0.035 on Autolite single platinum with modified 355. No issues. I also used 0.035 on my 1987 (LB9) 305 and it ran fine.

Re: 305 TPI pinging under wot

Yes, the knock sensor is cheap. The ESC was about $70 though. I happen to have one used (but good), only 1.5 years old. I'll let it go because I just did a 350 swap for my 305. If u want the LB9 ESC,...

Re: 305 TPI pinging under wot

I do not know if the '87 LG4 has a knock module, but if it does, replace it. My '87 TPI ESC (AKA - knock module) module died and it was pinging like a mofo.

Old / bad knock sensor will cause...

Re: fan problem

This is true... if the connector / pigtail is not making a good connection and arcing intermittently, then this will cause tremendous heat build up and damage the relay.
