its a pain, but try hooking a vac hose to the egr valve, if it runs rough or stalls, it could be something else. I see a lot of injectors get clogged, or otherwise go bad, also check for vacuum...

Things are looking more promising about showing for the gtg, I got Jen's rear rebuilt today, and am expecting the spacers for my vette wheels on Monday or Tuesday, still no promises tho.

but anyway... I just found that jet proformance sells a chip that they claim will work in a 83 5-speed tbi...

as I was typing, it donned on me that the 84 vette did have a manual option, so I looked around and found that Hypertech - Power Chip
Part Number: 154371 is a California legal chip for the 84 vette...
