Car will not idle...
Started this morning. I moved it on the driveway because of street sweeping and it was acting fine. Get in it a couple hours later for work and it won't hold an idle. Hell it won't even start unless I give it some gas. Runs like normal just won't idle. It is throwing no codes except 12 which is all clear. I even tried putting in an 88 IROC ECM with 350 prom and it still wouldn't idle. Disconnected the MAF and still no idle. All the spark plugs are on and not grounding. I don't see any broken vacuum lines or smell anything unusual. What in the hell could be the problem? I am getting really tired of this car and idling issues. Please any help guys?

The idle air control (IAC)motor is probably bad. Check the wiring. It will not throw a code.

Thanks Vincent and Don:hail: The IAC was stuck with the pintle all the way out. Put in an old one and the car fires right up and runs fine. What a relief to have the car back to normal Thanks again for your help guys

You can clean your iac with carb cleaner. I cleaned mine with a can with the emersing bucket I picked up at a local auto parts store. As long as you don't put anything but metal parts in, it will work fine. You might also need to remove your throttle body, and clean out the iac seat with some carb choke spray.

The IAC that was in the car was new. About a month and a half old. Seems I just got a bad one and the motor burned out. I put in my old one and the car runs perfect again. Damn Autozone POS.
