SC3G Holiday Meet & Greet Sunday December 9, 2012 @ 12PM
This special event is for all of our local members that were not able to join us for last weekends San Diego Meet & Palomar Mountain Cruise.
Our Holiday Meet & Greet will be held at:
Bob’s Big Boy Broiler
7447 Firestone Boulevard
Downey, CA 90241
(562) 928-2627
Map
As always our meets are open to all 3rd gen owners from all areas so please feel free to stop by and represent!
To RSVP or if you have any questions please feel free to contact me / greygoose@sc3g.org call/text 714-713-0768
For those of you that aren't familiar with this iconic location, here's a quick history...
Experience the days of hot rods, souped-up automobiles, big hairstyles, lazy days of cruising, and the birthplace of the original double deck hamburger. Bob's Big Boy Broiler, first known as Harvey's Broiler Restaurant, earned innovative fame for both groundbreaking "Googie" architecture and the now classic broilers.
Thousands of cruisers came from all over the United States to experience the taste and atmosphere of this legendary Downey restaurant started by Harvey and Millie Ortner in 1958. After nearly being obliterated by an illegal demolition, people from all over saved the legacy of Harvey's and found a new owner in Jim Louder. Rebuilt in 2008, according to architect Paul B. Clayton's original blueprints, Bob's Big Boy Broiler is picking up speed with Hot Rod and Custom Cruise Nights on Wednesday's and Saturday Night Cruises.
Bob's Big Boy Broiler not only continues the cruising history of this Downy Restaurant experience, they also have revived some of the best American traditions of burgers, shakes, and fries.

I was expecting something more along the lines of...
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/sout...eting-bob.html
Stopped by around 1220, only four Camaro's. Came back around a little later, more Thirdgen's still mostly Camaro's...

Thanks to everyone that came out to our Holiday Meet & Greet! Had between 12-15 cars which is amazing for a meet that was only announced 3 days ago! Well done everyone, we'll see everyone next year

This meet was literally announced Thursday afternoon (a little over 3 days ago) and yielded 12-15 cars counting people that came, stayed for a while, and left during the 4hrs we were there. 12-15 cars for today's event is absolutely extraordinary!
