factory crap vs aftermarket

I have the F41 suspension package and 205/70/14 (yuck!) tires. I know I want a set of 275/40/17s all around but that'll come later. What I want to know is if I'll see a big improvement if I get these: Hellwig sway bars, hotchkis springs, KYB AGX shocks/struts, and a global west wonderbar. Will this be a harsh ride? Any help or insight would be appreciated, and if you could tell me what exactly F41 was that would be great too.

Any time you upgrade your suspension with some performance aftermarket stuff you should see an improvement. That rubber and stamped steel stuff sucks.

I don't think ANYTHING with 205/70/14 tires could ride rough! Those things have got to be all kinds of squishy!

Are the AGX shocks/struts worth the extra money over the standard gas-a-just and GR-, for anyone that has experience with both?

i cant even think about how good the car would handle and feel with the whole nine yards...

The KYB Gas-a-just shocks are a definite improvement over stock, but the GR2's are not a performance shock and (in my opinion) provide only a marginal improvement (if any!) over stock. You'll notice a difference if your shocks are seriously blown, but don't expect to corner like a formula one car.

The AGX's are a different story... I installed these a couple months back and the difference is worlds apart from the GR2/Gas-a-just combo, not to mention it can be tuned anywhere from potholes in the city to canyon carving, and takes about 5 mins. since they are externally adjustable. I think Bilsteins are a better shock, but for an externally adjustable shock, I'm completely happy (for now) with the AGX's.

yeah, im sure that the GR-2 struts will not be too much better than stock, but you are talking about 1984 stock, we are talking about 18 years later stock. I can tell you that there was a HUGE difference between my old and new struts and mine were only 12 years old.

Well I bought new Reactek shocks, which are the stock 1LE shocks. Then 3 months later ended up getting a good deal on some sport Bilstiens. All I can say is I should not have wasted money on any other shocks in the first place. If you are looking for that performance oriented ride, this is my suggestion. The price is steap, but like the saying goes you get what you do not pay for.
