VAFPR Parts List
I am going to be switching to a vacuum fuel pressure regulator (aeromotive 13301 unless someone recommends something else) and I need a list of other things that I will need to connect it to my TBI. I can't tell you how many second and third orders I've placed because I didn't order all/the right stuff to make something work.
I've never connected one of these, so any help would be appreciated. I'm looking for any hose (and sizes), any fittings, mounting locations and how you dealt with the regulator that is already in the tbi.
I have the EBL system, just for the record. Thanks.

Re: VAFPR Parts List
Just did this to my truck. Here is what I ordered from Summit. You will need a few other things, like tubing cutters, some teflon thread tape. Short section of vac hose. I wasnt for sure on the size of the return line on my app, turned out i bought the 3/8th tubing adapter and did not need it. So you can probably leave that off the list. Also, i would recommend getting 6 ft of hose instead of 3, gives you more options on where to mount the regulator. Might get one of the 3/8ths adapters or one of the hose ends in a 90*. Again, Easier to mount somewhere that way.
I bought the regulator and pump from www.jdsperformance.com . Best price i could find and he was nice to work with.
Good Luck. Think you will like the setup.

Re: VAFPR Parts List
The new external regulator goes on the return line from the TBI unit. That is the smaller of the two fuel lines attached to the rear of the TBI. Should be the passenger side line.
For the internal regulator I made a block off plate. Used something around 3/32" steel. Can also used 1/8" (or so) aluminum. The plate is flat and shaped the same as the stock regulator where it mounts to the pod.
Used the stock regulator diaphram with the center cut out as a gasket.
RBob.

Re: VAFPR Parts List
oh yea forgot to add these. I already had them, but you might need to buy a few.
2 or 3 3/8th pipe plugs.
fuel pressure gauge. I went with a 0-60 psi.

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks guys. Where did you mount it? Did you build a block off plate like Rbob? Any pics of your setup 7point4?

Re: VAFPR Parts List
No pictures yet. My engine bay is not really picture worthy. I mounted mine on the firewall behind the air cleaner, but really wanted to mount it towards the front somewhere. Not enough line, and/or needed a 90 degree fitting. I just backed my adj regulator that was in the TB out some, but going to build a block off plate tonight for it. Easier to do at work.

Re: VAFPR Parts List
OK, I layed out the fittings on paper and I found one that doesn't make any sense to me. What is the EAR165056ERL (6 AN male to 5/16 tube) for? All of the hose I should be buying is 3/8".
I'm guessing that the side ports come from the TB and the one on the bottom goes to the return fuel line, right?
Do you know what size vacuum line to buy?

Yep. The ports around the body are 'input' ports. From the TB to one of these. Put a gauge in one of these. Plug the other two. Bottom of the regulator goes to the return line back to the tank. After setting pressure you can remove the gauge and plug that line also. Up to you.
Go to an autozone or oreillys or somewhere like that and get a small assortment of vacumn fittings and related hose. You can get it cheap, and always handy to have around. I used like 1/8" or 1/4" hose, out of my stash. buy a couple of feet of each of the smaller sizes, and some fittings for each. Always handy to have around. You can take the regulator to make sure you get the right size.

Re: VAFPR Parts List
yea. it adapts the -6AN hose to the 5/16" hard tube that is already there.
The 14.5mm adapter goes in the return port on the TB. you make a -6AN hose that goes to the regulator. Another -6AN hose goes to the adapter that couples it to the existing hardtube.
You have to cut the return line off a couple of inches back from the TB.
