Assuming it is a true Pontiac design engine, nothing will fit, except for maybe the transmission mounting and the carburetor. Possibly the spark plugs would be the same. The Poncho used a completely different type water pump (more like a Buick), a different oil pump, a different intake that doesn't seal the lifter valley (they used a stamped steel valley pan), a different length block and different journal dimensions (so the cam, crank and just about everything else won't interchange), and different mounts.

Aside from that, you should have no problems with the swap. Really, you can probably get a bone-yard 350 for a few hundred bucks (CD), and running at that.

The only parts I can think of that interchange between a Pontiac 350 and Chevy 350 are the distributor module, the coil, and maybe the spark plugs depending on which heads each one has. Other than that, every single piece is different; and I do mean every, single, piece. Water pump, oil pan, intake, fuel pump, cam, lifters, push rods, oil pump, pistons, transmission, motor mounts, everything about the exhaust, and so on... name a piece, I'll bet it's different. The battery even needs to be on the opposite side of the car.

Fix your Chevy 350. That's what you're going to do, I already know it even if you don't. It's by far the cheapest and best thing to do.

The only crank that fits a Chevy 350 is a Chevy 350 one. Cheapest crank on the planet. What's the problem here?

I could be mistaken, but I seem to remember that around '77 the variation in transmission patterns was reduced to only a few, and that the Pontiacs may have the same pattern as the SBC.

It really doesn't matter, since the SBC is the way to go. Unless you're planning to resotore a Pontiac to stock condition, the engine really doesn't have a lot of value. Shop around for the parts you need. A set of bearing shells is only about $55 (CD), and a crank polish or reground cast crank can be had for nearly dirt.

BOP bellhousing = buick, oldsmobile, and pontiac all use the same bellhousing that is different that the chevy small block/ big block bellhousing. The BOP makes a U at the to instead of a point like a chevy.

check e-bay they have 350 stuff cheap. I would help you out here but, I only get to the yards on the weakends and shipping would put an end to that quick. besides you could get better cranks new for very cheap.

If you're in canada, I'm going to be the lone dissenter and say you should check out that "Pontiac" 350. Reason being, I've heard that Canadian Pontiacs got Chevy engines from several places.

You may find out it's a Chevy 350 in a Pontiac
