Which roller timing chain?
Im looking at the Comp Cams 3136 and the 2136. The 3136 says its a racing chain, and the 2136 is a street chain?
Now, the "race" one is cheaper, but is there a major difference that Im not seeing? They are both for roller cams. Which should I go with?
2136

Yo Al,
The one for race is made of billet steel. The street one is cast iron. I would go for the billet. The timing set I use is from an Aussie company, can't remember name. Its really nice. Billet upper gear with torrington bearing on the back side for smooth operation. Heat treated lower gear with 8 different keyways for cam timing changes. Not very practical for everyday tuning, but nice feature!! True roller chain of course. The best part is I got it from my local speed shop for $20 more than the top of the line Cloyes. No dis to Cloyes, they make a nice part too...
