HELP!!! Car runs rough and worse

My car is crapped. Today I replaced the spark plugs, wires, distributer cap,, replaced the positive battery wire (ground wire was bad) put on a chrome valve cover (only had time for one). When I was doing this I accidentally broke the heater control valve. Now it rides rough and has antifreeze coming out my exhaust. I am sure the dist. cap is tight. I am also quite sure the spark plug wires are fine. I clamped off the feeding hose to the valve. (It has three hoses going to it, two from the heater.)

My questions are: Can I reroute the hoses to the valve? How is antifreze getting in my exhaust? And does anyone have pictures so I can make sure I hook everything back up correcty? Any additional things anyone can think of or help with would be EXTEMELY helpful.

EDIT:It also backfired a few times when I gave it gas out of the Throttle body itself. I also shot out white clouds of both the throttle body and the exhaust.

It sound like you have some serious problems. Are you absolutely sure that it is antifreeze coming out of your exhaust. I am going to step out on a limb and guess that maybe you did not hook the spark plug wires back to the right cylinders. That would make it run terrible, backfire throught the carb and possibly have som unburned fuel running out the tail pipes. If that is not the case, I have no idea what the problem is. Good luck my friend.

I am pretty sure it was antifreeze but I only noticed this after I moved the car, so it might not be (praying). I made sure that I hooked the wires in the correct spots, but is there a way to check that they are in the correct place?

Car: 87 IROC
Engine: LB9 for the moment
Transmission: T5
get a repair manual to ref the number one position on the dist cap... it will have the firing order as well... 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2... trace the wires to the appropriate plug position... that should get you fixed up...

Perhaps the problem lies in the Distributor cap, i know this sounds wack, but you could have not matched it up properly, there is a notch that fits onto a groove on the Distributor, these 2 go together. Happend to me caused me tons of trouble, and turned out to be a quick fix. Even though i thought the distributor was shot, ignition wires were defective, etc... Takes like 5 minutes to fix at most if this is the case.

Neo,

If you're not certain they're correct, go back and check.
