Cams

Hey, i have 2 cams and i don't know what kind of performance they would do to my car one is marked GMC / D.5 / 23 / 1539 (6), the other is marked 6930X / GM88 / G25.
I think the second one is a crane cam but not positive.

If i run one of these cams i will be getting my Q-Jet rebuilt to run with it,
a Edelbrock Performer Manifold and i will be cleaning up the stock 305 heads. (can't afford the $1800 Dart heads that i would like)

If it's an aftermarket cam it'll almost always have it etched into the end of the cam along with the grind number. Those numbers don't sound like a Crane numbering scheme.

I was also told that one of them is a solid lifter cam.

Dose any one know what these cams could be and if one of them would be a reasonable upgrade for my L-69?

They both came with a mates 327 when he got the engine and he didn't know what they were.
I now have the 327 but it is just a short block on a engine stand that needs heads, that is one thing i can't aford atm.
but any way will one of these cams work good in my L-69?

You could buy a cheap degree wheel (it'll come in handy later), and set up a 1" travel dial indicator and get a decent approximation. You can get your max lift, .050" duration, etc. LSA if you do a bit of math. That's a pretty good idea actually, if either cam is worn down, the dial indicator will show it.
