went to car wash and washed her, didnt not wash under hood, moved to drying bay and dried it, moved, started fine, finished and went to go home, started it, it ran for a second, then died, restarted it, ran for a second, tried giving it some gas, didnt nothingand died.
I did hear a poping noise and smelt a burning in the cabin.
Head lights and horn work

I have to idea's on what it could be,
1)when i tried starting it a 3rd time, I did NOT hear the fuel pump prime
so fuel pump
2) i think it might have popped a fuse

....u answered your own question lol.............but for a repeat of what you just answered. It sounds like you popped a fuse, hence the burnt smell. I would check all fuses in the panel and change any that are popped. Here is where the problem lies tho. Why would a fuse pop? Lets assume that water was the cause of the pop. You will need to find out how water possibly got into the car in order to pop a fuse. If it wasnt caused by water then you need to still find out what caused the fuse to pop. I personally hate electrical in cars. Thank god we have older cars with less electronics. New cars are so rediculous when things go bad.

Re: car died and wont start
theres an inline fuse by the power terminal sometimes. I would test to see if you get power at the dizzy when key turns to power, not start. if You do get power cool. Next maybe check the alarm fuse. I had alarm that would kill the ignition when broken. Next when your key is turned to power does your engine light show on dash or flash? I had a computer that loved to eat chips. MMMM. 85' is a slow unique computer. On the way to the auto parts store (auto parts is all i ever go, or the groceries, gas?) is popped loud and smelled like circuit boards, or like when one's soldiers electrical components. I got a tow. it smelt bad like metal. and it was in my mouth taste yuck, like cheap vodka or cheap beer. the light on dash didnt come up or anything. I had to replace (ecm, chip, calpak, fuse at the fuse box.) after that i checked the dizzy to make sure the dizzy cap didnt short out a lead. I turn it on, first try it workd. sweet. that was last year exactly too. i barely got my car going again after 10 days. i minor rebuilt the dizzy, and replaced ignition component, my guess a failing coil. but its been three or four years, and all my parts are Mexican. YEE HAww they needed it. when things heat up things short out and die. i mean thats a lot to ask for from a small coil, energized over millions of times. hope that helps

Hey so you did find it? it was the link?? I bet if search hard enough you can find a fuse. i don't know if one would recommend this, but maybe just maybe you can cut it out, and swap another fusible link, sounds crazy, then heat solder with high temperature lead/silver and link it with a western union tie ((((fancy for when they used to run old telegraph wire and the {western union tie} was a fancy word they used to call a certain wiring technique that would give strength to the wire ends when connected, and would stretch for mile on poles, under weight by mother natures gravity. I would hold up fairly well, thus one on the best ways to connect to wires while soldering))))and heat shrink. I had to replace the coolant pigtail the 2 wire (one) and the 1 wire (one). thats the only thing i can say, don't take it as advice, just my experience that all. Also when you're washing your bad a ss ride, were you listening to the radio? sometimes if the key is in on your starter is too,,the water may have grrr. i don't know, but if say, you go through the trouble and it is your fuse inline. then it may pop again. then you're at tracing another.

sveet, or sweet.. I think if you were to get the head light covers to make it more sleeker. it makes the bumper hood transition much more smoother look. and the covers say camero .. i think you should talk to someone more experienced than me
