just wondering but....
If I were to jack up my rear end and spine the tires, will that rotate my engine? I’ve tried pulling the spark plugs (to have less compression) and pulled on the belt before, but that’s a pain… and my car has been sitting so long (almost assembled) I just feel the need to rotate it every once in a while to make sure the engine doesn’t lock up…

Re: just wondering but....
The way I do it is leave the car on the ground, transmission in 5th, and push it. To jack it up and turn it, you'd need to leave on tire on the ground, or turn both. Of course, none of this will work if you have an automatic trans.

Ok so it will work… but y wouldn’t it work for an auto, cant you just put it in neutral? I’m not trying to start the engine, just trying to rotate the internals of the motor (so noting gets locked up)…

with neutral there's no resistance on the motor. no turning. that's why its easy to push the car there's no resistance in neutral.

Re: just wondering but....
buy a oil priming tool and use a drill and run some oil thru the motor that way. y not just start it and let it run till it warms up then goose it a lil then just shut it off. (i just like to goose it to hear the exhaust) i do this during the winter to keep my battery charged up and keep the cylinders from rusting.
