I'm not talking about major break-downs here. But my car seems to have its good days and bad days. On some days for an (as yet) unknown reason, my car will drag its tires in the morning, not wanting to get on it when I hit the gas. On other days it hauls butt like nobody's business. Sometimes my dash lights work and then for a few weeks they might not come on at all. Some mornings my car will fire right up, and other days I gotta keep cranking it. Not all these issues have been diagnosed yet since I still consider myself an amateur, and I'm sure eventually I'll work out the gremlins (once the cash starts rollin in), but it all gives my car personality and it's almost not such a bad thing. Anyway, just wanted to get a feel for what moods your cars have and thirdgens in general.

Im there with ya man. I got a 1991 Z28 with a 305 TPI and a 5 speed. My car has mood swings as well. Some days its a lead slug and wont get out of its own way and some days it moves like it no ones buisness. IDK why or whats diff day to day but it deff happens

I hear ya. That is what I love about our cars. Nothing like a cool clear night to make one run like a beast. Try working your dash light dimmer back and forth to clean it and make your dash lights work better.

i guess mines a slave then cause it only does what i want it to } but my grandprix xD totally different story lol its like if i rush it. it slows lol if i baby it. it wants to move lol and sometimes it wants to move with you lol

My 02 WS6 (i know its a 4th gen) has major mood swings.. or used too cause i would be coming out of a store i get in i put the key in start trying to crank it and all the lights come on and the radio but the starter wont make a sound or even try to crank.. and i would sit there for 5+ minutes turning my key back and forward till it starts up.. this has happened to me 4th gen friend aslo but hers got worse mine got better and she got it checked and its dealing with how the keys were made with a security thing on it.. also my driver side door wont open from the outside so i have to go threw the other side open my door and get in for now till fix it... pretty crazy.. my 3rd gen is actually not that bad at all haha..

my 86' has major mood swings, i spent three days getting it back on the road when i bought it and finally got it to pass smog.
Now a month later it decides it doesn't want to start and it seems to be running too rich for some reason.

I'm def with you guys on this one. My formy is always on her rag lol. Some days it runs nice and strong and I can give an ls1 a good run, then the next day I'm having trouble with a civic But I love these 3rd gens better than any 4th gen Ive owned.

My friend had the same problem on his 02 C5 Vette and I think there was a recall on it - you might wanna swing by the dealer and check if it's the same issue as yours if they got the same components.

When I'm running a little short on time, our '87 seems to want to be lazy--harder to start, & 1 time it went completely dead on a foggy morning at 4:00 on a back country 2 way road!! I talked real nice to it, turned the key, and it started right up & stepped on down the road!! It's under the cover 'til spring now.

While im away at college, my dad starts my 85 up about once every 2 weeks or so and he says that it starts right up and stays running.

when i come home to visit and try to start it up, it doesnt want to start right up for me, instead it takes a few times to start it up and keep it running, lol.

Guess it likes my dad better when im gone, haha

my wife says my 89 got mad when she saw i bought that 91.hah i guess she still is.

HA Ha this is hillarious cause its true...sometimes my 87 will run beautifully and other days it will lag and not pull as hard it seems to like the cold weather better...its like a dam girl..
