Are 305 and 350 Harmonic balancers the same?
I looked it up, but I am finding conflicting information. I want to use my balancer from my old LO3 on my L98. I think the one on my 350 has spun.

You can interchange them as long as the diameters are the same.

TBI and TPI are a lil different.
The timing mark placement is more strait up on TBIs (1 O'clockish)
TPIs are 2-3 O-clock..
Thickness of the balancers TBIs are thicker towards the timing cover than TPIs are.
I think the truck (maybe fullsize car) TBI balancers are bigger also

Could I use a 350 from the mid 90's. I'm looking around craigslist for a cheap engine. I found one from a 94 silverado, and another one from a 93 Chevy. It didn't specify what vehicle. Of course I still run the risk of getting another bad balancer I guess.

You can use a balancer from any SBC except a 400, as long as the diameters are the same to clear your timing comb. Put your own TDC mark on if they're not in the same spots.

One-piece RMS, but what does that have to do with his balancer?

13Mgoff, after 86 or so all use a single rear seal, center bolt valve covers with a machined gasket surface, Chevy finally did something to try to stop the oil leak problems they had sense 55.
The trucks didn't get the roller cam for a couple more years. OOPS, startin to ramble again, hope I helped.
