How does this situation lead to ....

ECU gone bad?

??????

Don't worry man; doesn't matter HOW BAD your ECU has gone, even if it's started hanging out with the seniors that stand around the dumpster out behind your school smoking ... strange things, who knows what; there's NO WAY IN THIS UNIVERSE that an ECU that's "gone bad" can produce that symptom.

Troubleshoot the lack of 12V deal FIRST. Reserve "bad ECU" for MUCH farther on down the road.

Study my signature, every single word, one at a time, ("simplest"..."all"... "probably"... etc.) for some REALLY GOOD mental discipline. Won't fix EVERYTHING that ever goes wrong, but will keep you out of the weeds most of the time.

Re: ECU gone bad?

I got the same issue on a v6 3.1 1991 model... Lets share info... I have power in front of the firewall... Relays, Fuses, power all there... At the pump.. NO POWER AT ALL... AT THE REAR BULK HEAD... Keep me posted, I will do the same.. Car died in front yard and had been running perfectly... I am looking at ECU/ECM myself... There is only 2 or 3 possible things yet... I am going to HOT WIRE from BATTERY both a positive and negative lead... I will be using a FUSED LEAD... Good luck!
