97? Civic gets put in his place
Well i was coming home from my girlfriends tonight and on this dark farm road (Homestead) I see this car with really bright headlights (i thought they were his highbeams) and foglights comes up really fast on my bumper. I am doing five over the limit (40) and he is right on my a$$. I can't even see his headlights anymore. So i get to the end of the road and stop at the sign and give it about 1/4 throttle (my intermediate pipe disconnected itself two days ago from my cat so my car sounds REALLY bada$$) and he continues to stay right behind me. I get to the next stoplight and it goes green, I make my left, he follows and i give it 1/2 gas this time. He didn't keep up as well this time but i don't know if he was really trying. We get halfway down the road, i'm doing 35 and he has started backing off a little, so i drop it into low one, punch it, and take off on him. He tries but he can't keep up and then i slow down and turn down another road to get home. He follows and he stays on my behind. Well this road is a 25 with a school on the right and it's very deer infested so i look for deer and suddenly he's right next to my door. So i drop it and punch it again and i pull away. He gets back behind me and follows me home where he finally does the flyby and then he's gone. I enjoyed it a lot. If we had raced from a stop i would definately have toasted him. I guess he wasn't V-TEC, because the faster we went side by side, the more i pulled. It was black with the exhaust, i could kinda hear what i think was an intake, and of course the blue/green neons on the hood. Sounds like he was a low to mid 17 sec car? Sound right? I know that with a lot of work and money these cars can be decent, but this one seemed slow.

oh it coulda been a vtec, they're nothing impressive. good kill cause it sounds like this guy deserved it.
as an example, my 2000 chevy prizm has vvt-i, toyota's version of vtec and it is nothing to scream about powerwise. the gains i've noticed are good midrange power for passing on the freeway(without downshifting) and great fuel economy. 37 mpg. it pulls nicely up high but it is no V8. the civic vtec motor has 127 hp, the SI (which is kinda rare has 160). my prizm has 125 hp.

Yeah, fast imports would have no problem with the LG4. I found out today that the kid i raced went to my school (i graduated). He has a dark green civic with white rims, a DOHC V-TEC sticker, and neons. The car is automatic, but he has a huge 6' tach w/the shiftlite, and a fake boot. The kid is pretty dumb. When he first got the car he went to change the oil. Well, he drained the oil, put the filter on and drove it around with no oil in it. It seized so now he has a new engine. Well i schooled him and he told some of his friends who told me that he "was almost close to staying with me." OK. Whatever. I took him. He has a friend though with an 84 El Camino with a 383 stroker in it and he runs 11s. He got kicked off the track because he doesn't have a cage. I have to watch out for him.
