Well that Mustang can be anywhere from 11s to 14s! We need ALOT more info than just heads, intake, and possie (I think you mean traction loc).

Without any concrete mods on either you or him, and without track times/trap speeds from either of you, there's not possible way to tell. Logic says don't bet money on it.

Sorry, there are too many variables here.

Either of your setups could be mismatched, or dead on, we can't tell. I wouldn't race for money.

No he doesn't. Thats fords name for thier limited slip differential. General motors cars are usually refered to as having "posi" or Positive Traction which was borg warners name for thier type limited slip diff (I'm not saying all gm cars came with Warner rears). He's got a limited slip type differential (not sure if its eaton or borg??). Whether its cone type or clutch type (most common) I'm not sure, but that would be dependent on the brand rear he's got.

The fact that he has an auto(a ford auto) is why I would think that you took him so easy. Ford autos are pretty nasty, and not in a good way. I have raced about 5 stock 5.0s and four of them were autos. I beat them by about 2 cars and the 5 speed by about 1 car.
Good kill by the way

AOD's are the second worst transmission ever made...next to the A4LD. I picked up 5/10ths just by switching from an AOD with a 2400 stall converter to a built C4 w/2800 stall converter.

Lived in Southside all my life. Grew up in Meadowbrook and now I live in Midlothian. I've got a bunch of friends in the 'ville. Did you ever hang out at the Park & Ride?

Yeah, the AODs are terrible. No matter what you do to an AOD tranny itself, a 5-speed car will perform better (IMO).

He should have spent the money on a new manual tranny, clutch, etc. Then he should have saved up for gears, and a F-303 cam. That alone could put that pony into mid 13s.

5.0 vs 2.8. No need to even speculate.

Sorry. I saw 2.8l in the in the username. In that case, I can't tell because I don't know what the heads are gaining for the Stang. How come the Chevy 305 isn't as potent as the Ford 5.0? If I had to choose, I would still say the 5.0.

Well because the chevy 305 was an emissions motor. They weren't really meant to be fast. The 5.0s from ford have higher nickel content, and the later ones came with forged slugs (don't qoute me on that though). Also the fords came with better cam grinds. There are a whole slew of other reasons but I'm too lazy and drunk to get into em.

The bore and stroke is better, forged internals, and others! It doesn't make them better, just better for going fast. And with chevy the 350 was there performance motor!
