Car: '91 Camaro RS
Engine: TBI 305... bah
Transmission: Slushbox 700r4
my bet would have to be on the el camino. i've got a tbi 305... and i know that a tbi setup isn't all that strong just by it's nature. whereas a carbed car is going to make more hp by a considerable amount. just my thoughts!

I don't know for sure. The El sounds well built. I hope you are a good driver. That's all I'll say for now.

You don't even have headers and you're asking if you can take a 350? Nuh uh. Not unless the guy driving is incredibly fat, gets no traction, or that car is running poorly.
PS. You will also win if he really has a converter that stalls 300rpms like you say.

My vote goes to the Elky, as long as it's setup properly. The only caveat there is that if the El Camino really makes good power, he might have traction problems at launch.

The Firebird belongs to my cousin (stormr here on the board), the 'Camino is mine. He's been razzing me for a while since we toyed with a "race" a while back when the old Q-jet carb I had sputtered and he pulled on me. It should be a fun run, just waiting for better weather so we can settle this

Car: 89 firebird, 03 Avalanche z71
Engine: 5.0 stock (for now)
Transmission: 700R4 auto
Axle/Gears: stock 2.73 for now
about the who would win
by the time this race gets settled I will also have headers, and my 3.42 in the firebird, possibly even a 350 im savin for, not to mention the fact that last time we raced my bird was bone stock, with none of those items he listed in there. but he does have 3.73s hes gonna put in by then, so we'll have to wait and see
