4 door Jag vs. Me

I was going down a 4 lane road, this Jag comes up next to me and starts hitting the gas and looking over at me. We were already doing about 40mph, but I said what the hell and bit, my car took off. Actually had a lot better reaction than usual, I guess changing my spark plugs really helped. I pulled like 3 car lengths on the Jag and backed off because of traffic. He didn't even try for any more, he rode behind me and then turned. I just found it funny having a luxury car try to race me, still doesn't beat having a Toyota with handicap tags trying to race me.

Nice kill. Watch out for some of the newer "R" models. Like the XKR, XJR, and the ugly S-Type R. Don't worry about the X-type R.

They're pretty quick, but some, if not all, have some kind of electric throttle, so there is a slight bit of lag (split second) before the power rushes in. Remember that from a roll.

Also, keep an eye out for older jags with a mean sounding exhaust, it just might have a chevy under there!

I was planning to get an old xj6 with a 350/350 before I got my firebird. It's okay, because my dad let's me take his XK8 'vert out now and then. Even the n/a "old" AJ8's (4.0 vs. newer 4.2) are pretty quick.

Scott

I don't know about jag rear ratios, but I'd guess his car weighs around 4200 lbs. I'm sure that's off some, but that'd be a 1/4 ton!
