350 What?

Just got back from about an hour long cruise with the beast. Came off the highway here onto a two lane road that heads slightly up a hill. So im at the light with no radio yet, jamming out to my exhaust (putting the center console in tomorrow) and this 350z with some little twirp pulls up next to me, looks at the car (I guess for signs of weakness, because he saw "RS", Reeled him in baby!).

I take off like normal thinking he isn't even gonna try, and I hear him go WOT. I floor the car and bye bye 350z. I had two car lengths ahead and hit the brakes to quit. This guy still wants more. He hasn't slowed down and heads past me, take it out of neutral and into third I go. Front of the car pics up (not the wheels, v6 springs rock, great weight distribution) and I look over and his jaw drops.

Bua hahaha, about 4 seconds later im in front of him by about a car and creeping away, so I shut down because I was at about 85 in a 40. He keeps going, my life is more important, so I don't even try and he cuts ahead of me and turns off into a residential area, I honk twice, and he doesn't come back.

Those silly japanese cars. These things are nothing .

Fear me **** rockets! Bua hahahaha

I love the reeling in part. So ironic how he thinks he comes up to the light in complete control and then from both a stop and roll he gets pulled on by a car that cost significantly less than his, gotta love it. good run pasky, keep our side winning in the war as my car can't take out the front running imports, just the stragglers (civic, 240sx, etc.)

Must have been your new paint. Made it more aerodynamic? j/k
Got any pics of your car? Its a sweet ride man. Lets see it up close. N(r)ice kill!!! I tried to hook one of those new 350z's in a few months back but he wouldnt bite. At every light he would take off and wind his engine out. We pulled up to a light together and I leaned out the window and said, "Hey, you shouldnt wind it out like that its bad for the motor!" Never even gave me a look. LMAO...

Still got to get a few things sorted out for the up close and interior shots. Right now, I have 2 seats and no center console. My speedo and tack don't work until I put in the new v8 gauge cluster. Just minor things, stilll havn't vacuumed the carpet.

Its great messing with these **** rockets. They don't know what a real car is, they buy into the hype. Thier always parked outside the pawn shop here on the main strip and I rev at them every single time I drive by and none bite, were talking 5-6 passes here. Oh well, can't wait to mess with folks after this cam install. Looking at 360 rwhp when its done.

Its a big cam, just sitting in my closet for now:

230 / 244, .510 / .540 (1.5 rockers) 112 LSA.

with my 1.6 RR's were looking at .540 / .570. Num Num. Suck it ricers, mua hahahaha

Just got back again. Almost got a Saleen, (don't know what year it was) to bite, him and his girlfriend were driving. He got next to me and started revving and his girlfriend seemed annoyed. I returned the favor and I took off normal keeping my eye on him and they turned into sonic . A cavalier with a fart can wanted some, but he tucked his tail in between his legs when he heard the beast . No one wants to play .

Car: 85 firebird
Engine: Pos 2.8 pulled and replaced with a 350 tpi motor converted to carb.
Transmission: 700r4, vette servo, shift kit, hayden 15"x8" trans cooler.
I remember the first time i drove my car after the motor swap. I tapped the gas and felt the front of the car lift (no not the wheelstand lift, weight transfer lift) . Thought to myself"cool i aint changing these springs!"

Gotta love the v6 looking cars with v8s in them.

I deff agree with ya. I know someone with a V6 RS, and he changed it into a V8 350 TPI. And it was insane and the car lifted easily. It was a blast

what other mods are done to your car? Just wondering becuase i dont think 360 rwhp would very likely without head work as well. If you have EVERY bolt on and some good ported/worked over heads you might see 375.

Whats the word? Oh yea, *yawn*. Im already at 300 rwhp with just headers, exhaust, LS1 driveshaft and 1.6 RR's. I've eaten two LS1 fourthgens, so I guess not only is it lonely at the top, its very slippery. Check out camaroz28.com for people running the cc306, they got sheets on stock heads making 350+ rwhp with just the cam and exhaust, im not even sure if they have 1.6 RR's.

Oh forgot, also have a computer tune.

Save ya some time, members on camaroz28 with just cam, no head work:

Altjar is using the GM 847 Cam 357rwhp.(M6)

Madwolf (my tuner) runs 348 rwhp, he hopes to get more through more tuning. 233/239 Cam. (Auto)

Also xxsaint69x with the CC 306. Something like 349rwhp.

Meh, just a little more

http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/b/...o2/dyno351.JPG
http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/b/...o2/data351.JPG

He is on a much smaller cam than I will be running

CC502 (XE 218/224 111 LSA) with 1.6 pro mag rockers
he is running SLP shorties and a 58mm TB.

Oh just found xxsaint69x's dyno (wasn't even fully tuned):

Personally, RWHP means jack to me. I go out where the real challenge is .

how did you "eat" 2 ls1's with 300 rwhp? unless thats just the word you use for "beat". They must not have been modded. My T/A put down 349.3 hp with the mods i have listed. i used to have an lt1 and i loved driving it. It made its peak tq at a much lower rpm than my ls1. you can easily light the tires up from a roll in a m6 lt1. honestly it felt faster. but the ls1 has a flatter tq curve and is much smoother so its power is decieving. good luck on your car.

Meh, I took your comment as typical LS1 man mumbo jumbo (considering your last argument on this board) in denial of something else could be just as fast with a cam swap. "eat" was used by me to describe beating my cousins 00' ls1 by about 3 car lengths, he is a crapp driver. However, their was a 01 Camaro SS that wanted some of this and lost by about 2-3 cars before shutting down at about 75-80 mph.

They are both autos and I drive a stick. I consider myself to be a pretty good driver and considering both times my tach and speedo weren't even working, i'd say thats pretty damn good. Not to mention the car is a lot lighter than any fourthgen. I lost to the SS from a stop because my traction sucks, the guy was running drag radials and I spun through 1-2, and chirped third, but a loss is a loss and it was a fun loss.

Tomorrow im having lower LCA brackets and the spohn torque arm put on. So I really don't care about rwhp numbers but thougt i'd mention them since so many LS1 guys fail to believe that a LT1 can make a lot of power with minor mods and not even touching the heads.

Your right, I have yet to run into a modded LS1 as of yet. But why do you think I bought the cam .

Thanks.

BTW, the torque curve may stay slightly flatter, but it doesn't spin up as fast down low...

yeah, you cant drive an ls1 like an lt1 they are two different beasts. both of them are quick they just require different driving styles. when i first got the T/A i wasnt impressed because it didnt seem to have the same down low power. i was used to just rolling into first and slamming it, and getting sideways all over the place like i was on ice. Doing that made the formula alot of fun. i could smoke the tires at will from a roll and it felt like i was reving it in neutral but the tires were just spinning. The ls1 wont do that as easily unless you dump the clutch at about 3-3500 rpms. but i think the ls1 just breathes better up top because it never feels like its topped out. It just keeps on pulling.
ive never had it over 120, but it sure as hell wanted too, but i didnt have the nutz.

Nice to see a LS1 man speak the truth. Your right, they are great motors. Thier not my Cup O' Tea though. Im a big block guy to start. Use to have a 65' goat I swapped a 454 from a 69 stringray in with a muncie rock crusher four speed. Had to sell it when I went to the army, sold it to my best friend at the time and he has it in houston right now. Pontiac Blue 65' gto.

I drove my cousins trans am and I was like, WTF is this? This feels like a v6. Then I took it up on the freeway here and it got a little bit more fun. Still not as fun as the LT1 I have now, but I have seen these things get some killer power. Guy here in town swapped a LS1 from a 02 SS into his 92 RS. He runs 11's flat with just suspension mods and slicks and a 3200 stall and a 150 shot.

also the ls1 has a strong bottom end (6 bolt mains), but the whole thing is aluminum and that kind of scares me.

Indeed, hasn't been out long enough to judge its strength. I am actually considering building a LS1 from a Truck Long block. Little ways down the road, but still in idea land. Next project will be a thirdgen 502 . Num num.
