400hp+ Firebird formula
One of my dads co-workers has an 80-81 firebird formula. It has a 350 c.i. with many mods including a cam and bored out. He says he got about 400hp, and its an auto. what do you think his 1/4mile time should be around if he is telling the truth. I know it should be faster than my car but by how much would you say???

too many variables to deal with. rear end gearing, convertor stall speed etc....... there is no doubt its faster than you but i would guesstimate with the right gearing that car could go 13.3-5

Considering how much more the 2nd gen cars weigh and the fact that the typical pine cone with one thinks adding a cam will give 400hp in an otherwise stock 350, you should hand him his posterior.
But if he has half a brain (or a tad more) and is running a motor with something on the order of AFR or Brodix heads and the associated supporting parts, he could have 400hp. Then again 400hp in a 3800lb car is the same as having 360hp in a 3400lb car, so the extra weight is his problem. The car would only run in the mid 12's or so if that is the case. If it has 300hp or less, it may not even break into the 13's.
Oh yeah, since its an auto, ask him to race from about 100mph on up, he wouldn't have OD with a stock TH350.
