Is this a good one to get?

I'm experiencing bidder's remorse right now. I am hoping that I didn't screw up too bad. I am definitely not spending more than the $150 and shipping.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEBI%3AIT

I have a LG4 going to a 400. What else do I have to get?

Thanks,
Jason

Jump on that deal! I paid over 150 for my setup(old). It sounds good and most everything is there.

What else do I have to do to get this going? The wires to the box are cut. Are they all part of a harness inside it, or am I going to have an all night splicing party by myself?

If this is going into an LG4, then you'll need more that just the intake and computer. You are going to need the wiring harness complete with all the sensor fittings, fuel injector connections, etc. I just pulled a harness/intake/computer/fuel lines/etc from a '89 TransAm locally for $250 complete. Even so, there is still a bit of rewiring I'll need to do...

In addition, you'll need an electric fuel pump.

Look for some wiring diagrams or pin outs. Get a harness from any GMPFI car with your load sensoring choice. Wiring is not hard. Painless harness=$250
My wiring harness=at most $50.

Who's looks better and is snaked around the engine bay less. MINE!

Sorry, I meant whether you want a MAP or MAF system. It is a 87 so it uses MAF. But you could change it over to MAP if desired.

I is quite easy. Go to a junkyard and grab any harness out of a MPFI Gm car. Make sure you have eight injector plugs though. Then You have to find a wiring diagram and start to rewire it for your new ecm. That is done. Now you are going to throw your new harness over your engine. Go ahead and take off that drab factory loom though so it is just the wires. It will look like a birds nest at first, it will. Then one by one untangle the wires and route them in the shortest possible way. Once that is done you will be able to see inches if not feet of exta wire. Cut it out. Make sure to leave a little extra and then tie them together for the tiime being. Then go inside and double check everything and make sure everything is there and routed the way you like it. Then Pull the old harness and put your new one in. You will have to plug everything in. Sensor to computer. Then untie your extra inches and either solder it (correctly) together or cut a little first. It is really quite easy.If you have any fears or questions, we are all here.

Got'em!

If there is a line going off of the fuel rail on the driver side to a two-prong thing does that mean that it is the ninth injector?

Is that good or bad?

All of the injectors are here also (or at least what look like injectors).

It looks like something was supposed to connect to the top in the back. Three holes.

What heads are you running? I just noticed that no one else mentioned it, and wanted to bring to light that the intake you're looking at won't bolt up to any heads before '86. Just make sure you get the right heads to accomadate the bolt pattern of that intake so you don't get stuck when you go to put it on say your stock LG4 heads.

This stuff is to top off some AFR 195s on a 400 block until I can get an HSR. Then I'll put it on the LG4 I took out (that I plan to put in a 2nd gen RX-7) with the 416 heads. The plan is to setup the bottom and heads and drive until I get the HSR. Then I just have to swap out the intake.

That is wrong. Many people incuding myself and several friends have used 87 and up intakes on previous model heads. All you have to do is drill out the angle a little more and use washers. It works out fine and only takes about ten additional minutes.

To this swap it appears that I need to take off the dash and drop the rear also, right? I plan on switching to a 9-bolt, and changing to R-134a so I am guessing that I'm going to have to do it anyway.

If I am going by the fuel rail in the system I have a MAF TPI unit for a 5.0L F-body.

Since I don't have an MAF sensor yet is there one that is recommended?
