check out all of my new mods
project superstock is finally done. i will be driving it in a day or 2. for those who werent following it with me, i wanted to make my 87 vette run about like a stock ls1 or around there while still maintaining good drivability and stock look. it has taken me many many hours of work to finish this project. i used every source of info and every formula i could to determine how the parts would work together and with the car.
i also upgraded the looks of my car with 18" y2k vette wheels. i have my nitrous system completely hidden and my engine has stock everything which can be seen. see sig

oops, no sig on here.
ill just tell you all what it has.
It is a late model 383 with a 212-218 duration@50 and .480 lift-.490 rollercam.
i used trickflow twisted wedge heads and a ported and polished stock intake base. i used polished and mildly ported intake runners with a stock plenum along with a stock throttle body and an airfoil. i used a new waterpump, cap and rotor, plug wires, and all the little things. this car has all of the free mods and has a 160 degree thermostat with the fan wired to be on at all times. i have my dual 3" exhaust custom all the way back with dynomax strait throughs and an h pipe, i used stock headers.
i still need my chip, of which i am burning my own. and like i alluded to i have 18" y2k vette wheels all the way around with 265-35-18 yokahama nexus all the way around. the nexus tires are nearly slicks. what do you all think?? i love the way that this car looks stock to even a trained eye, even the 150 hp nitrous kit is stealthy.

I'm building and 87 Vette also. My stock exhaust manifold ports were about 1.2" across, while the head exhaust ports were about 1.5" across. Switching to headers should gain some serious hp in a modified motor.

nice setup but isn't that stock intake choking that 383? i know u ported and polished but it still the stock intake....i would invest in some after market runners and an aftermarket base....that should really help that engine breath...what is the stall speed on your torque convertor?

i should be running about like the new vettes without the 150 shot, it is insurance. i am getting a better intake later but part of my goal was to see what exactly i could do with this stock configuration. i am going to go with an aftermarket base and the asm tube runners and a ported plenum in a few months or sooner if im not happy with the new times.
my converter is the high stall from early vettes, i think it is 1800 or something but i have loads of lowend torque and my cam has 212 intake duration so i dont need a whole lot of stall speed. this car should handle like its on rails with 18s and 265 wide all the way around. im only looking for low 13s without the nitrous. low 12s with it maybe high 11s if really works out well but i doubt this fast
